To truly see an appropriate vision of God’s prophetic word and its effect upon the world around us, you must be willing to have a childlike view. Jesus said that God has hid things from the wise and prudent and revealed them “unto babes”. I interpret this to mean that those who are skeptical and cautious will have a hard time seeing the real truths that lay within prophetic words. I distinctly remember the first day I read this verse in the Bible: “The wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” I had been in the midst of dealing with some pretty serious situations in my own organization. Last night there was a big hole punched in our family’s normal nightly sleeping schedule. At 2:00 a.m. I went from room to room to wake up the women to come into the living room. The long-anticipated English royal wedding was about to be aired live on the BBC. My two daughters were especially excited to see one thing: Kate’s dress. We absorbingly watched the majestic procession of dignitaries, the queen and her entourage, and, of course, William and his brother. For those of you who are not familiar with the term prophetic act it simply means that you hear a word from God to do a simple action that might even appear to be silly. Your act of obeying the word of God releases an incredible saga that usually includes a miracle. This is the method that God has used with His people ever since the beginning of time. Jesus, the son of God, constantly performed prophetic acts. Jesus told servants to put water into pots and it turned into wine. Jesus put mud mixed with his spit on blind eyes and then told the man to go wash it off in the pool of Salome and the man was able to see. Moses threw a branch into water and the water became pure. Elijah threw a branch into a pot and it became edible. Moses lifted up his hands and his army won the battle. The list goes on and on where God simply tells man to do something that requires hardly any effort, but obedience, and God does the rest. One of the first things that God ever did, when He was creating the world, was, He “moved upon the face of the waters.” The definition of this phrase in Hebrew explains that it’s like a hen sitting upon her eggs and brooding over them. Now, if God is so advanced that He can quickly create a tsunami that can travel from Japan to California faster than a 747 jet, why would He take time to sit and brood before He finished creating earth? As a matter of fact, why did the Lord rest on the seventh day after Creation was completed?
