Another Layer Of Blindness Is Removed

Monday Morning Blog: “Truth” ~ To learn how to subscribe  Click Here!

For years I have shared with you the story of my saga concerning personal weight loss and the struggle that has gone on with me internally and physically.  On November 1, 2012, a very simple but elegant miracle occurred when Jesus spoke to me on that morning and said, “Give no thought of what you should eat.”  I realize it didn’t sound so profound, but the elegance that was in that simple phrase and the way it came as a revelation to me ~ has transformed my life in a way that no diet program or eating schedule could ever have affected me.  Over a month has passed and I have consistently and slowly lost weight, with no change in my eating schedule or exercise routine.  I have simply just quit thinking about eating, and only when God brings something to my mind do I eat it.  I’m sure this may sound too easy and may even cause questions to come into your mind.  The point I am really trying to make is that it was a revelation that I “caught”, and not something I just learned.  As I have presented before in these blogs, what God does to us through His power changes us in ways that our human abilities are completely inadequate to understand or even comprehend.

Yesterday the Lord told me to drop everything and to go pray on a nearby mountain.  To get to the mountain I needed to cross the Golden Gate Bridge and it was at the crack of dawn.  As I pulled onto the bridge I was surprised to find that the traffic had been brought to a complete halt and my car was parked there for nearly an hour.  I soon found out that at the northern end of the bridge there had been a serious head-on collision that involved three cars.  While the emergency vehicles cleared the wreck, I and some other early-morning travelers, waited in a wonderful misty dawn rain in the center of one of America’s most famous landmarks ~ by ourselves.

What a glorious morning prayer place!  Instead of being frustrated by the time loss resulting from the abrupt change in my schedule, I decided it was a blessing of extra prayer time gained.  I feel it is very important that we change the way we look at things and realize that even interruptions are working together for our good.  Eventually the traffic cleared and I made my way to the top of the mountain to have my appointed prayer meeting with God.

At the top of the mountain, after hours of quiet fellowship with the Lord, He spoke to me this simple eye-opening revelation:  “In the same way I spoke to you how to lose weight, I will speak to you about how to get rid of the weight the carnal mind has upon you.  Your eyes will be opened to think only on the words that come from the lips of God, and you will learn to discard the words that come from your flesh.”  This statement stunned me because it was so simple.  I was already undergoing the miracle weight loss in my physical body, but now God was now going to let me experience the weight loss of thoughts that had been troubling my mind.  I am sure many of you have experienced the same kind of thoughts as they weighed upon you emotionally, and even physically.

I hope that you will understand that Jesus wants to free you from that weight also.  Troubling thoughts can weigh so heavily that I have seen people literally stop their journey with God simply because of a troubled mind.  We must not lose sight of the value of a mind that is filled with faith.  It not only changes the tone of our journey, but it makes true lasting success possible.  The Lord desires to speak faith thoughts, that are honest “rhema words,” into your mind to live by every day.  Does not the word of God say, “Man should not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God?”

This intimate word was only given to me yesterday.  So yes, my eyes have just freshly been opened to a new revelation from God.  While it is too soon to tell you the full effect it will have on my own personal life, I sense that it is going to have a dramatic effect upon the book projects I am currently working on (and other endeavors that have been sitting and waiting for action to begin.)  What an exciting day to be alive!  My prayer is that you to can find this great revelation of a “mind that is filled only with God’s thoughts”.
