The day started with me rolling out of bed trying to clear the cobwebs out of my mind, wondering at the same time what was in store for me that day.  I knew I wasn’t feeling exactly at the top of my game so I started speaking in tongues looking for that peace of inner glow that passes all understanding.  After an hour of praying in tongues, taking a bath, shaving, combing my hair, and brushing my teeth, I concluded that it was going to be a day of many activities.  My daughter, Rocki, decided to join me and we headed out together on our first errand of the day.

Rocki and I decided to start with doing the prophetic act that the Lord had instructed me to do on the top of Mount Tamalpais.  I looked at the gas gauge as we drove across the Golden Gate Bridge and I realized we were almost on “E” and that I needed to immediately get some gas.  We pulled into a small truck stop that had a Starbucks nearby.  After a wonderful cup of coffee we continued driving towards the top of the mountain.  But when we were about a half of a mile from our destination the Lord suddenly said to me, “Richard, you forgot to get gas so you’d better go back and get some.”  I told Rocki what the Lord just reminded me in my spirit of what I still needed to do.

I then looked at Rocki and we started laughing because both of us instantly felt that God had delayed our journey for a spiritual reason.  Our family has come to realize, that when unforeseen events happen that seem to inconvenience us, it is usually the hand of God slowing us down so we can sync up with His precise time schedule.  God was delaying us for some reason, as we were going to have to repeat the hour-long ascent to the top of the mountain.  Finally, after much delay, we finished our prophetic act on Mount Tamalpais and departed to complete some other errands at three different stores in San Francisco.  A little after 5:00 p.m. we reached Stonestown Shopping Center to do our last task for the day.

As I glanced at the clock I saw we were two hours past the original time we had previously planned to be there.  But instead of being overly upset or frustrated by the interruption of our schedule caused by the delay we were excited because Rocki and I knew that God had something special in mind that caused the postponement of our shopping at the exclusive San Francisco mall.  As we concluded our purchases we suddenly felt an ecstatic joy of anticipation that God was going to do something (though of course we had absolutely no idea what it would be).  Yet just the mystery of the delay was making us excited.  Then it happened!

Yes, it was a surprise, but it came to pass just like we sensed it would.  And to think that it was occurring to little ol’ us.  A striking young Samoan couple was walking into the lower garage parking lot entrance and the husband was holding the door open for me as I was leaving.  Rocki’s eyes went immediately to his wife for she noticed the lady looked familiar.  (By the look on Rocki’s face I sensed she saw much more than the woman in front of her.)  Then, as my daughter and I walked over to our parked car she shared with me the reason she had such a shocked look on her face.  “Dad”, she exclaimed excitedly, “that is the woman I saw in a dream God gave me three months ago!  The Lord told me some very important things about her family.”  I told Rocki she should go back into the mall to see if she could find the couple and share with them the message God had given her.  I then drove the car to the front entrance of the mall to wait for Rocki to return.

In a few minutes Rocki came running out the front doors of the mall with such a glowing smile on her face that she looked like Cinderella in the king’s castle.  I saw that the Lord’s Spirit had visited her.  She leaped into the car and we both became stunned as she rehearsed what had just happened.  “Daddy,” she bubbled, “I went up to that couple and told them the message God had given them regarding their relative and it was exactly what they needed to hear!”  Rocki and I relished that special moment because God had orchestrated all of the events of the day with perfect timing so that we would be there at the exact moment this beautiful couple opened the doors to the mall for us.  We just sat there with absolute wonderment at what God had just done…
