Thursday, the day before the Batman movie, “The Dark Knight Rises”, was to open, the Lord had me share a prophecy with the church that I pastor in San Francisco. The Lord said, “I will speak to the world in a metaphor through the Batman movie”. The Lord didn’t tell me anything else that was going to happen when the movie was released. The whole world has since heard about the mass slayings that occurred in the Colorado theater during the night of the movie’s release, which we all know was an incredibly devastating event. I realized that this was an attempt by the dark forces in the spiritual realm to hinder the real message of the film, for the Batman film carries a very powerful metaphor. In the weeks to come, you will see the numbers of people who watch the film go way beyond Hollywood’s expectations, because I believe the message that God placed in the film is about ready to become a world-wide phenomenon.
The movie reveals the plans of the dark forces in the world today that are trying to bring chaos throughout the streets of the nations. In the year 2008, the Lord showed me in a vision of how the spirit of Leviathan would try to pit class warfare against the peoples of the world. As you can well see, world leaders are attempting to do this very thing as you read this blog. Their ads and messages are very clear: to divide us all against each other. And this is what the Batman movie shows in the most simple basic way. The villain in the movie has put the people of Gotham City in a literal prison, to where no one trusts anyone and the police, who are supposed to protect and serve, are locked down in the sewers.
Satan initiated a similar plan of disorder in the nation of France during the French Revolution. Some of the worst atrocities ever to occur in history are when societies revert to social chaos. (The movie actually refers to this period of history by reflecting the trials of individuals that occurred during the French Revolution.) This is the dream of satan for all of us, to make Christ and His body, which is the Church, look despicable in the eyes of the world. But as the movie declares, it only takes a moment of light to expose the darkness and set things in proper order.
Satan has been working for hundreds of years to bring nations to the point of social chaos ~ where the common people, out of frustration, are willing to accept any leadership that is strong enough to end the madness. There are world leaders in government and business today who have openly declared their goal is to bring social chaos in the streets, upheaval in the governments ~ so they can triumphantly come in and offer their satanic plans to rule the world. But I firmly believe this diabolical plot will be defeated in a moment, with a flash of God’s Word. The Psalmist said, “God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life” (Psalms 51:10, The Message Bible). An amazing thing that I have seen through the hand of God, is how quickly His Word can destroy even century-long planning, deceiving, and blinding of people. The Words of God are so powerful that they can easily cut through satan’s darkness, like a two-edged sword, and expose all of his deceptions.
In the movie, Batman had to first deal with his own self-delusion before he could free the Gotham city from its massive deception. It wasn’t until Batman came to the revelation that he was the biggest compromiser of all because he was sleeping with the enemy. It is not until the Church comes to the revelation that we, too, have been “sleeping with the enemy”, that we will see the power of Leviathan destroyed. It is really very simple. The Church just needs to turn it’s focus on Jesus, the true Superhero, and get it’s eyes off of every other thing, including man’s tradition, and all other spirits that are seducing it. When Batman finally realized that the woman he was attracted to was a power-controlling leviathan, did he know he finally could be free! [To clarify the metaphor in the movie, the leviathan is Bane (the man with a talking-device mask), who is controlled by Miss Money, Miranda Tate, whom Batman had originally asked to help him.]
