Treasures in Heaven
Although I had heard this Scripture quoted all my life, and was repeatedly reminded of it by my mother, I never fully understood what Matthew 6:19-21 meant: “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
What my question had always been was, how does one lay up treasures in Heaven? I became familiar with all the classic answers, but something did not ring completely true with them… I knew collecting things and “stuff,” was not an end in itself ~ though there was definite joy in the possession of things that have been paid in full and thus completely owned. But something still seemed to be lacking when it came to treasures in Heaven.
During the last few weeks, the Lord revealed the simple answer to this apparently complex question. I was watching the recent Disney movie, Beauty And The Beast, when Belle walked to her father singing the song, “How can you make a moment last forever?” I bought the movie soundtrack and listened intently to the song again. Then it hit me. “When I obey God in what He whispers for me to do,” I thought, “that obedience creates a moment that lasts forever ~ that I will even be reminded of up in Heaven someday.”
Now I understand what Jesus meant about treasures in Heaven. A moment of obedience creates a treasure that is remembered in Heaven forever. Our daily obedience is so important. Every day you have moments where you can be perfectly obedient to God and create a moment that lasts forever. I pray that each one of you reading this blog will listen to the Lord in the morning and do what He whispers to you. Store up those treasures for yourselves in Heaven! Create those moments which will last forever!!
“Washing My Car”
During this time, the Lord gave me the belief that it was possible to own something valuable without a loan from a bank. And so, I began the long process of learning to wait upon the promises of God ~ with great passionate patience.
I’m happy to say that the Lord has fulfilled my automotive desire with the beautiful Dodge van that I drive today. The license plate on it says “PRAY POD.” God got me the car, and He also provided me with an amazing name to put on it. For over a year, it has become my portable prayer room, and is such a joyful place to pray.
Today it was time to have the car washed and waxed. As the auto detailers were completing the finishing touches, I realized how much care they were taking with every little task. It reminded me of the concern that God has taken this week in the details of my inner spiritual life. God has been washing and scrubbing me internally with such care. I am constantly amazed at His loving and gentle ways!
The Bible says that God’s people erred in their hearts and they did not know His ways. The ways of God are so intimate and gentle, one can’t know them from a distance. The only way we can really learn the ways of God is to let Him wash us completely. Which brings me back to the car wash…
I’m having my car washed today even though, according to the clouds billowing overhead, it might rain very soon. So it is with my spiritual life. I want to repent and have God’s presence cleanse me. I may get the dirt of sin on me very soon. How precious it is to stay internally clean. When it’s sin versus grace, grace wins hands down. It just takes a little light to shine brightly in complete darkness.
If our light is to shine in San Francisco, then we must make it bright with the love of the fire of the Holy Ghost. Lord, wash and cleanse us that we may be clean ~ so that our city might smell the sweet savor of Your cleanliness. Oh, how much I love San Francisco!

“Obedience Is A Moment That Can Last Forever”
Today in prayer on Periscope, the Lord spoke to me and told me what His perfect will is for a Christian: to be perfectly obedient to the whispered word of God in their spirit every day.
Then the Lord spoke to me and said, “If you obey My word, the moment of your obedience becomes something that heaven remembers forever.” I immediately remembered what had happened to me as I was walking into the Starbucks in West Portal, San Francisco. The Lord gently whispered to me and told me to ask the barista about her family. When I did what the Lord asked, the young barista looked up with a hurtful look on her face and told me of her need. She said, “My uncle is dying from stage four cancer.”
When she said that to me, I saw a vision of salt flying over her uncle’s hospital bed, and I knew what this simple action meant. I quietly said to her, “Go to your uncle’s hospital room, and take some of salt. Throw it over his bed, and your uncle will be healed.” That event happened just two years ago, and has become a part of my history in heaven. Her uncle is still alive today.
Remember that Jesus said, “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal”. These moments are treasures in heaven. They occur in your life as a result of simple obedience to God’s spoken word that He whispers daily in your spirit, your mind ~ or even in a dream.
Wow! This is true treasure! Think of the value you begin to obtain when heaven knows that you are a conduit of obedience, and when Jesus knows that you will always obey His word. Practice obedience to His spoken word every day. Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me”.
A moment when we obey God is a moment that lasts forever. Everyday that I obey God and do exactly what He tells me to do, even if my flesh doesn’t like it, it brings excitement!
I love you all and hope you can join me daily on the Periscope App. We usually pray around noon. Also, my family and I will be at A Place To Meet Jesus at 1970 Ocean Avenue on the patio for Good Friday service and Easter Sunday morning service ~ both at noon. See you there!
Money: What God Uses To Bless You ~ Not The Center Of Your Joy
“‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts.” This Scripture coupled with, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.” ~ show distinctly that God controls money. When He gives it to you, there is absolutely nothing negative in that gift or action ~ it is to bring you joy. But money itself is not the center or the source of your joy.
This is the mastery of God, and it determines how much wealth He’s going to give to someone. Only He can give you the wealth that will make you truly rich, happy, and content in fulfilling His promise that, “godliness with contentment is great gain.” Think of the billions of people on planet earth ~ this promise is made to every one! But there are some characteristics I have seen that God requires for each person to have this great wealth. Some of these may shock you.
Just as rain falls on the just and the unjust, so does God’s distribution of wealth ~ God is very neutral. Yet in the making of connections concerning His favor, He is very biased. When you enter into the spotlight of His favor, it also means that He tests you constantly to see how you handle great wealth. Remember the Scripture, “You have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things.” God tests us exactly to see how we will respond.
A while ago I had a dream, and the Lord told me specifically to make a small investment. When I made the investment of my family’s finances, it put us in a precarious position. But I stayed consistent with what the Lord told me to do. Suddenly, the small investment skyrocketed up. It was something small I had to be faithful in.
Many times people have told me that words from God pertaining to something small really don’t matter. After years of experience, I can say this is the reason most poor people remain poor. What makes it even worse, is that satan also knows about this way of God. Satan purposely attacks with fiery darts that are totally blown out of proportion so that you will ignore a small thing that God asks you to do.
For example, say the Lord tells you to buy your boss a cup of coffee. Satan whispers and says, “He makes more money than you, so you should give it to a needy person”. Then he tells you to spend the money, that God told you to use, on something else. You may think it is just a little thing, but it is actually determining your financial future. This is why the word of God says, “Obedience is better than sacrifice”. Obedience to the word of God leads to great wealth.
I’ve had great finances pass through my hands, and yes, it does feel good. But it is not my source of joy. The source of joy that warms my heart is knowing I have obeyed what God has told me to do. Make obedience, especially to the little things, your top priority every day. In Hebrews 3 we read, “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion”. Each day we must obey the little instructions God gives us. This is the source of great wealth, and how God releases His money.
God wants you to be physically rich ~ but He also needs you to be able to handle it. It’s God’s way of testing you to see if you will listen to His little instructions and obey. If you will just do this every day, you will soon discover that it is the center of your joy!x
Activism: Lord, Remove It From Me
This title puts me in the sights of criticism from activists, but I’m willing to accept this vulnerability so I can remove even the shadow of activism in my own spirit.
As I have mentioned before in earlier blogs, the Lord spoke to me about a year ago and said, “When you pray, intercede for the angels to remove all forms of activism from the earth during this harvest season.” Of course when God spoke this to me, I began to do a lot of introspective soul-searching ~ that revealed to me that I myself was an activist. The spirit that was on me was the desire to control other people and make them do my bidding. This controlling spirit is not the way that Jesus wants leaders to be. He desires us to follow Him by inspiration ~ and not by fear or intellectual convincing.
As I began to intercede and pray all across America, I saw that activism was a skill that the powers and forces of darkness were trying to develop among the world’s population ~ to the point of even paying many to be “disruptors”. I instantly recognized this as an attribute of Lucifer, who was called a division causer among the brethren. Very ugly spirits come out of activism, which pollute the soul and defile the mind. The shocking thing that was revealed to me in intercession was that that defilement was inside of me. Wow! This was really getting personal. But I also realized it was the mercy of God that allowed me to see such a thing so I could be cleansed. And oh how exciting it is to get a chance to be clean!
Think of the person whois closest to you. Activism affects what we do and say to others around us. Yes, in this area I am probably just like you. I often want to correct people when I speak to them. My intention is to have them go in a way that would please me. But this is an area where activism must die in me. In Matthew 7:14-15, Jesus gave this explanation: “And He called the people to Him again and said to them, ‘Hear Me, all of you, and understand: There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.'” So this brings me to the point that we’ve got to be willing to be quiet and say nothing ~ and to pray for our family and others who are close to us so that activism is completely removed in each of us.
When activism ceases to exist, it clears the air around every person ~ freeing them from all controlling spirits. “He that the Son has set free, is free indeed.” This freedom means that He will be the quiet voice speaking to you every day, taking you on the greatest adventure you could ever have. And this adventure is continuous. I know, for my family and I are experiencing it right now! Wow, this freedom is exciting!

“The Closeness Of His Manifested Presence”
There are many things that various people call the most valuable experience of their entire life. For some it’s falling in love, with others it’s coming into a large sum of money, gaining a promotion, winning an award, or receiving congratulations. For me there has been one experience, and that happened to me when I was just 10 years old. It was the manifested presence of God, and every day it’s my most treasured experience.
Like an Olympic athlete waiting for the approval of his training coach, or the president of a country waiting for his general’s call announcing victory ~ the presence of God has a proposition in it that settles all doubts, fears, questions, and maybe so. And that is: it’s yes, and amen.
When I wake up in the morning, and sit up in my darkened room waiting for the sunlight to come shining through the windows, I begin my search for His manifest presence. Yes, this is a daily task. This experience is something that is unique and totally fresh every day. Not one day of my life experience can I ever compare with another.
It is such a unique event that it must occur fresh every day. To put it in plain talk, it is simply the presence of God saying, “Hello, I’m here!” Now I must make a note that this is one of the great mysteries of God, because He chooses the simple things to confound the mighty.
Adventures don’t happen because of human connection. They happen because of God connections that are centered on His manifested presence. It might sound simple, but I’m telling you it is the most intricate and complex way of God that is beyond your understanding. It can literally change any complex situation or problem in a second, in the moment. And that’s because God, who created all things, has the ability to fix all things. So if I have His manifested presence, guess what? From my simple position on the bed, He helps me waken and I suddenly have access to all things. Every time this happens I say in my heart, “Let the adventure of today begin!”
Obviously if something so great can happen, why is not everybody doing it? The answer to this question is a little more evasive than you would think. First thing, it requires a relationship with God Himself that has become intimate. Secondly, it is a skill that can be lost if not practiced daily. Thirdly, and the hardest, is that the thoughts and intents of your heart must be aligned with the will of God.
It took me only a paragraph to articulate those three points, but a 50-year lifetime to try to gain the spiritual skill of achieving it. To be honest, my journey was slow and cumbersome because I had been filled with a lot of traditional religious garbage that was pointing me in the wrong direction. But you can achieve this excellence presence of God being manifested in your life daily, by just simply calling out on the name of Jesus and praying to Him. Yes, it’s that simple.
Daily on Periscope, about 12 noon West Coast time, I pray for one hour and I invite all of you to join. Every day on Periscope I am attempting to achieve the manifest presence of God, though I have reached this point very few times. You will surely enjoy being with us at this time. God bless you. See you at 12 noon!
