We are living in a time when it is incredibly important for the godly people of America to pray. As Scripture says:
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
The purpose of this Scripture is not to intimidate us, or to imply we cannot understand the way God does things. Instead, it encourages us to do the research, and then be content with His ways of accomplishing His plans.
As my family prays every day, we have met people who are also praying on their own, as prompted by the Holy Ghost. People all across our nation are praying, as I know all of you are doing as well. Recently God has had my family intercede: “Set the captives free.” So many people are bound by addictions, perversions, debts, and all manner of weights that torment the soul. A short time ago, Misty had this dream:
“I went into a warehouse with a friend. Inside were exhibits of the latest tennis shoes and clothes. People were given bands on their wrists signifying that they could rent the clothes and shoes. All of these different people were getting ‘high’ from renting, and when the rent got to a certain amount each person was given a ring on their finger. There was a 12-year-old who had five rings on his fingers, and he had gotten very high off of his purchases. However, each ring of debt would take away five years of his life! Because the things they were buying were giving them a high, I wanted to leave the warehouse as fast as I could!”
My family knew this dream was the Lord prompting us to pray for the weight of debt, which steals joy in life, to be removed in America. Recently, I watched the extended version of The Hobbit. There was a powerful scene where the Dwarf King’s father went to war with his archenemy, the Pale Orc. In the midst of defeat the father was carried away by his enemy, and held captive under a spell for generations to protect the very enemy that stole his life. Eventually, Gandalf comes and sets him free, so that before he dies, he is able to give a message of love to his son. After watching this scene we went to pray for the many who are bound with suffering to be set totally free.
Jesus is the only One who can really set us free. He is the power that breaks every weighty chain. The way He sets the captives free is past finding out. One person’s experience may be completely different from another’s. But that is the beauty of the Lord. His love and understanding is customized to each one of us. The Lord said in Luke 4:18-19 (from the Amplified Bible),
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me (the Messiah),
Because He has anointed Me to preach the good news to the poor.
He has sent Me to announce release (pardon, forgiveness) to the captives,
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set free those who are oppressed (downtrodden, bruised, crushed by tragedy),
To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the favor of God abound greatly].”
This is what God wants to do in America right now! I want to ask all of you to join my family in praying to “Set The Captives Free!” There is power in the Spirit when we agree together. I believe in our unity before the Lord, He will pour out His Spirit upon our young and old, and we will see the broken and lost completely healed and restored!

A Place To Meet Jesus
