God spoke to me a few years ago and said, “I’m going to show you how to really enjoy wealth.” I knew the revelation God was going to give me was something that God gave those who really loved Him. It was something very sacred, and very personable. I had been troubled many times by meeting wealthy people in the kingdom of God who did not enjoy their wealth. In truth, their riches were causing a lot of their sorrow. God was showing me that riches are designed to bring you joy and peace in the Holy Ghost.
To lay a strong foundation on the premise I am about to share with you, I need to deal with another issue, and that is the “ways of God”. I am aware that the Scripture says, “So are My ways higher than your ways,” and Paul said Israel erred because they did not know the ways of God. But the Scriptures are not saying that we can’t learn about God’s ways, or that it is impossible for us to live in His ways.
Not only can we learn the ways of God, but we can live by the ways of God, if we are careful to listen to His voice daily. The truth of the matter is that learning to do things God’s way is actually more natural, easier, peaceful, and much more fun than doing them by the ways of the world!
I realize some of you may read this as just a bunch of theology. So let me give you an example of this truth. One of the ways of God I have learned is if God doesn’t warn me first before a shocking attack happens, I must calm myself down, not get excited, and not do anything but relax. I know that as soon as I ask and wait patiently, God in the appropriate time will fix the emergency.
There are numerous faith premises that you must understand, and today, I will share four with you. First, God knows everything that is happening to you and knows the answer of how to fix it. The second premise is if you ask Him anything, He is going to do it for you. The third premise is that His answer to your request will come at the appropriate time, and you must patiently wait~ no matter how long it takes for that time to come. Fourth (and this last premise is so important), if you turn it over to God you must wait for Him to answer and never get in His way, or say before the angel your prayer was a mistake.
If you understand these principles no sudden surprise will bring anger or worry to you. Instead, you’ll be waiting for God’s answer, fulfilling the Scripture that says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to Hispurpose.”
With this foundation laid, we can now go to the more interesting subject of finding great pleasure in wealth. Enjoy every moment of the day that you are in. Smell the air, enjoy the texture of things around you, look for the joy on another person’s face and compliment them ~ while getting a faith-filled reaction even if you don’t know them. The shocking thing is, God may give you something encouraging to say to them.
For example, last night I walked into a 7-Eleven. There was a young man who had been working a long shift. Since no one else was in the store I realized I had some time, so I complimented his smile. Suddenly, something unexpected came out of my mouth. I said, “God’s going to bless your three boys.”
Amazed at what I said, he responded, “How did you know I have three boys?” I smiled and said, “The Lord must’ve told me that, and the reason He did is because your boys are going to be such a blessing to you. That’s why you must always compliment them and thank them for the blessings they’re going to give you. I see that they will have great successful careers.”
The young man was so blown away that it was hard for him to talk to me. I grabbed my items and left the store. When I got into the car I realized what it meant to be wealthy and really enjoy it. The joy on the young man’s face made me feel like the richest man on the earth. All of the money in the world could never have given him those encouraging words for his sons!
The Lord then whispered to me, “You are learning how to enjoy wealth.”
