“Understanding The Mystery Of Blessing “

Many would say there is no mystery in blessing ~ just receive it and enjoy it. But I am acutely aware of how dangerous great wealth and power can quickly become. It is so dangerous that Jesus said, “Verily I say unto you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” It looks like from what Jesus said, at first glance, that this is simply impossible. But that’s not what He meant, because He went on to say, “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”

Well, that settles it then ~ Jesus said it can be done. And that’s why I say there is a great mystery in receiving a great blessing. The mystery seems to be in the condition of the person who receives the blessing, and their ability to emulate  the fruit of the Spirit consistently. You can just imagine the situation of complete monetary power, while at the same time trying to emanate the gifts of temperance, patience, and long-suffering. The hardest fruit of the Spirit to find among the powerful and wealthy is patience. This one attribute of God completely confounds me. He, above all things, is patient with me and my mistakes.

I realize that it is possible to be wealthy and to “go through the eye of the needle,” because God does that very thing. This is the mystery: the way to be able to handle great blessing, is to be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Every day, when you wake up, you don’t trust in riches, or friends, or anything else. You go back to God and completely trust in Him for everything. You let the fruit of the Spirit guide your every move, your every decision. Suddenly, you are in perfection, and your perfection has nothing to do with the blessings that got you to that point. They only have to do with the presence of God. So your attitude it is determined by your relationship with the Father ~ nothing else!
