“Deep Cleaning Of Thoughts”

This week begins our first inventors conference in history, and I have waited excitedly for this event (I am actually writing this blog before the first meeting starts). I thought it would be good for me to set down on the record what has been going through my mind as I stand like a high diver ready to leap into the future.

My beautiful model and wife, Sandy, saw me in our room this morning staring out into space like Christopher Columbus ready to set sail into the unknown. She tenderly broke the cathedral like silence that was still lingering patiently in the room. “Honey, what are you thinking? I know you’re excited about tonight.”  I spoke to her like a little boy who was caught with his hand in the cookie jar, “I’m trying to clean my thoughts.”

To the proud and self-indulgent my statement seems ridiculous and childlike. But to the true probing deep thinker that is hungry for the discovery of the next innovation, it is like the international space station waiting for the docking of a supply ship. Some of us have left the comfort of normal terra firma thinking, where both feet are planted on the ground, and have gone into the realm of the miraculous where there is no gravitational force to control us, or time to slow us ~ only the word of God.

Apostle Paul put it this way, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” When you cast down or discard every single form that says, “You can’t do it,” you have removed everything that has exalted itself against the knowledge of Christ Jesus. This is the point of ultimate freedom ~ just like moving into the liberty of outer space.

Now really listen to me here. At the point of freedom from all man-made regulations and scientific speculations, you now move into the innovative reality of obedience to the “rhema” word of Christ. This obedience is true innovation ~ and when it is manufactured and put into distribution it will be used by the public as a common practice. These actions remove all disobedience that would cause it to be rejected and disappear like old discarded technology. Wow! How cool is that?

Let your mind shift for a minute and think how God uses innovation to remove sin from society. Starbucks has literally changed the face of America’s social drinking habits by replacing the saloon or bar with the coffee shop. There are literally millions of innovations that God is ready to deposit in your heart through His Spirit.  God, please scrub my thoughts clean so I can receive the pure unspoiled innovations from the Lord.
