I was praying this week at Big Bear Lake, which is located at the top of a high mountain. John Holborn had shared with me at a conference some interesting information concerning light in our galaxy. The largest solar telescope in the world is situated on the top of Big Bear Mountain. It was constructed in the center of the lake because there are fewer disturbances in the air and it allows scientists to observe the sun with a minimum of atmospheric disruptions.
The next day the Lord spoke to me to go and pray near the observatory and listen to what the Lord was revealing about handling disruptions. After a period of enjoying God’s presence while observing the beautiful telescope surrounded by the ice-cold waters of Big Bear Lake, I understood the reason scientists chose this 7000-foot-high lake. It was so the frigid waters would not reflect heat waves into the air that would disrupt the telescope’s ability to observe the brightness of the sun.
I’m sure you get the picture. Here is this massive telescope looking directly at our nearest star, the sun, which is so bright that the temperature is nearly 80 degrees on top of a 7000-foot mountain! I instantly saw the message that God was telling me. When you are under the light of God’s favor, presence, and blessing, there are so many good things that are happening to you that if you’re not careful your life will become disrupted and you will no longer see the wonderful light and glory of God.
The next day God gave me two dreams that were very disturbing. In the first dream I pulled up to the luxurious mansion of a famous political celebrity. Instead of finding him in the house, I located him at a beach where his friends were throwing diamonds and jewels at him like they were baseballs. They were watching him jump around in the sand to catch them like a little boy playing a game (by the way, the politician was 70 years old). He was obviously under their total control as they made him jump around looking silly. The dream was so unsettling that I woke up and walked around the house praying ~ but I could not figure out what it meant.
I finally went back to sleep and entered into another dream. This time I was walking down the street and I found myself next to a very famous and popular movie star who is known in the industry for being very wealthy. As I talked to the star I felt that he had a personal meeting and he was going to say something more about it. Then suddenly he stopped and said, “No, I’ve got a source of supply.” He then asked me to come with him and he would introduce me to the people that supplied him with his wealth. I soon found myself in a very expensive vehicle riding alongside the star.
Suddenly the star asked the man driving the vehicle for $700. In my dream I was surprised, because to an actor of his caliber it seemed like such a small of a sum of money. I thought, “Well I could’ve given him that much money if he would’ve just asked.” But the star was ignoring me and was totally focused on trying to get the money from the driver (and the man next to him) who were his source of supply. As the star grabbed desperately for the $200 they finally offered him, they suddenly kicked him physically out of the vehicle! The money flew into the air and they grabbed it, as the star was left on the highway crawling like a beggar asking for anything he could get. The dream was so upsetting I immediately woke up.
I went to pray because of the two disturbing dreams and I asked the Lord for a Scripture to explain what He was trying to tell me. The Lord instantly gave me Luke 7:31-35 ~ “And the Lord said, ‘Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? And to what are they like? They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, “We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.” For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, “He hath a devil.” The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, “Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!” But wisdom is justified of all her children.'”
Here is the message the Lord gave to me as a result of a series of messages. If you remember, a few weeks ago the Lord spoke to me about the shadow of celebrity that comes from God’s light shining upon your life. It brings you the shadow of wealth, fame, and power. As people around you begin to observe your newfound blessings, they will suddenly say to you, “We have piped unto you and you have not danced.” Another way to put it is, that through their criticism or advice they will try to control you about how you use the wealth of God ~ even to the point of making you believe that they are the source of your wealth and not God Himself!
In both my dreams the people who were controlling the celebrities were their so-called friends or money managers. But they had turned the celebrity into a childish beggar because of their puppet strings of control. The message that the Lord was giving me was very simple: Do not let money, and the strings that result, control your focus on the glory of God. I must remove every disturbance that in any way causes me to not see God clearly.
I believe this is a message for all of us because great blessings are coming to you from God and many people you know, and have been friends with, will try to pipe and make you dance ~ mourn and make you cry. Do not pay heed to these disturbances, but listen only to the Lord, “For man should not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”
With His own mouth Jesus said that they called Him a gluttonous man because He had money and partied with it. He then contrasted Himself with John the Baptist, who was extremely financially self-denying. If you remember, John lived on a diet of locusts and wild honey (I mean, how more sacrificial can you get?) Yet the people called Christ a devil. In each case they were trying to control the man of God by criticism and advice. Then Jesus gave the real secret to the whole scenario when He said, “But wisdom is justified of all her children.”
What this simply means is, don’t listen to your friend’s suggestions, don’t heed your families’ advice, don’t pay attention to anyone that is not in proper authority over you ~ regarding what you do with God’s blessings. The most important thing is to listen to God daily and obey His every command ~ no matter how small and insignificant it might appear to be. And Jesus said your wisdom of listening to God is compared to children. Notice that children take a little time to raise before you can see how well they turn out.
This means that you might have to put up with some ridicule, be made fun of, or even face outright criticism concerning your management of God’s bountiful blessings. But did not Jesus get criticized because He allowed Mary to break an alabaster box and pour out expensive ointment upon His feet? Don’t forget that the person who was criticizing Jesus was Judas, and you know what happened to him. Worst of all, I would surely not want to be the person who toots their own horn to try to control anyone who is receiving God’s bountiful blessings.
