Last night I had a very profound dream concerning Rev. John Francis, our youth pastor, who died suddenly about three months ago. In my dream John was holding a baseball bat while standing inside a large baseball park. I looked at him wearing his baseball cap, and he seemed so serious and didn’t have his usual jovial manner. He said to me, “I am real, reach out and touch me. Feel me, I am real.” When I hesitated a moment, the top half of his body started to disappear. Then I said to myself, “I guess I should find out if he really is real.” As I reached out to touch him his image became stronger. I touched his arm, shoulder, and chest and saw he was indeed solid. Then John said, “I’m not going to be able to see you and the people in the church much longer, so I need to give you this message.”
John suddenly took the bat he was holding and hit a baseball out of the park. He looked at me and said, “Richard, the problem with the San Francisco Giants is that they are not hitting home runs. That is also the real issue you need to present to your young prophets. They need to start prophesying home runs. They need to hit prophetic balls out of the park.” He then proceeded to hit baseballs out of AT&T Park so hard that they were going over the lights in the stadium. When I woke up I decided to go into the living room of my house to pray because I knew I’d just received a message from God for our young people ~ that they needed to dig deeper into the spiritual world and prophesy words that were truly life-changing.
A few weeks ago the Lord spoke to me about the value of personal communication with Christ; that Jesus is the center of the universe, the head of the Church, and we are His Body in the earth. Now, as entire economies, political systems and church denominations are at a tipping point, the Lord wants to communicate powerful words to His people. And even the smallest change can cause the greatest move.
Going back to the San Francisco Giants. Though the pitching staff has been performing well, it’s important for the individual players to excel. It’s not the time just to sacrifice for the team, but for the players to get up to bat and hit the crazy balls out of the park. Each of you are going to have to interpret what this means to you personally. I ended up praying about all this for a few hours and then went back to sleep.
Suddenly I found myself back in the baseball park. But this time a spirit of confusion came over me. I saw horrible demons manifest themselves in front of me, trying to reverse the message that John had given me in the earlier dream. I started rebuking them and once again I saw John standing there. He strongly reiterated, “The youth have got to hit home runs out of the park!” Then I recalled that just a week ago the Lord had revealed to some young prophets the location of a man’s body who’d been lost at sea. He was a relative of someone in our church and the boating accident had been reported on the evening news. The Lord told several of our youth where the body would be found and, just a few hours later, it was exactly where the police found it! We all realized that God was beginning to release prophetic gifts at an incredibly new level.
This second dream appeared to be saying that we were going to make divine connections that would really hit balls out of the park! Two nights ago Jesus appeared to me face-to-face in a dream. He then read John 1:1, from a new version of the scriptures called the “Cow Bible”. It’s translated for students at the third grade level ~ in simple English. Jesus, quoting from the Cow Bible, said, “At the start of all things God talked. And the talk was God.” Whenever God talks to us it should be profound.
